Am I a knucklehead?

After fiddling with QL for almost a month, I wonder if I am a knucklehead,,,,I have been putting OAL length in the fields on QL as measured with a dial caliper. Am I supposed to use a comparator measurement off the ogive? :mrgreen:

You are doing it right. QL adjusts for bullet length and Cartridge OverAll Length.

So the measurement is from the base of the case to the meplat of the bullet that I type in the fields?

QL's data for its bullets is pretty accurate, though I've found a few to be off by a hundredth or little more. You can adjust the bullet length within the bullet file (save it under a new name) and your QL estimates will be more accurate.

Well, yea, both of us "if you were to ask our grown children"! ha No, I think you are doing fine, but we have some real QL Wizards ( not sure they are scriptural though!) who are a great help...they sure kept me from finally blowing my face off with my hot loaded 35 Whelen AI!
