God she is awesome, what a gift! Anyway... I just happen to get this little gem. It is a 1895 cowboy 45-70 but a strange one!

Look at the lever and the rear sight. I have never seen a factory NIB Marlin in this configuration and seller insists he never ever changed a thing! Go figure.

Nice. Wonder if that's one of the limited production models Marlin made several years back?

I don't know much about those limited versions - but you've sure got yourself a good looking big bore Marlin for sure!

Thank you guy.

I talked to the seller personally and he said he never touched it. Everyone else is telling my aftermarket buck horn/ladder-peep sight, with aftermarket lever.

Anyway with 9 rounds in the mag ans a 26" octagonal barrel that thing holds tremendous firepower!

Nice present, I have never seen an 1894 with a sight or lever shape like that one either.

It is a 1895 cowboy and I also never seen one like that.

Nice! That's probably my most favorite Marlin... the .45-70 Cowboy I mean. I gotta get me one.

My bad, I did not look closely enough at the action, just the octogon barrel. Sill never seen one like that.

I had my hands on one this last week in a shop that looks like that, but not NIB quality. If I was ever crazy enough to get a 45-70 that would be the model I buy as well. Nice snag!!

Post this over on marlinowners.com. There are some VERY knowledgeable Marlin addicts over there. I believe 1 or 2 two of them worked at the Conn. facility

Nice score Fotis! Officially jealous! Your wife did really well. It looks like the DRC lever that Jim just ordered. Either way, I hope this one sticks around buddy! If it doesn't, I would like dibs buddy. I love those CBs a bunch. Scotty

Nice! a man always needs another toy. How does that go/ " he who dies with the most toys wins"??? Can't ever be overprepared.

Fotis,

That is quite the rifle. Your child bride is awesome!

Hey now, I didn't say anything to be polite, because I figured he wouldn't unload something the wife got him!

She is on a roll with the levers. She got me 2 ~!

A 336 30-30 and the 1895 cowboy.

FOTIS, that 336CS 35 Rem is an unreal shooter! Can't believe how accurate those cheap old Marlins are. I just loaded up my hunting stash of 200gr CLRN's last night, so I will try the rifle out in the woods when I head home. Just a great rifle to carry.

What is your first load going to be for the CB? Are you going to stoke it up for an elk hunt this Fall? Give me some hints man! Again, that is one sweet rifle. Tell your wife we are all Jealous.. Scotty

Honestly I got a couple of hundred of Hornady flex tips. But I am not sure. I also have 300 gr HP's and 400 gr Speer flat points.

But what I am thinking of doing is making this the official milk jug filled with water killer!
I have some lasercast 350 gr so I might load them up and put that ladder/peep sight to work.

In levers I have the 1895 45-70
1895ss 444 Marlin
336 in 30-30
model 94 pre 64 in 32 Win Spcl
Sako Finnwolf in 308---someday I might fire that thing.
So as you can see I am in a chasm! I have no idea what to use!

Don't get me started on the Bees either!
