Honestly I got a couple of hundred of Hornady flex tips. But I am not sure. I also have 300 gr HP's and 400 gr Speer flat points.

But what I am thinking of doing is making this the official milk jug filled with water killer!
I have some lasercast 350 gr so I might load them up and put that ladder/peep sight to work.

In levers I have the 1895 45-70
1895ss 444 Marlin
336 in 30-30
model 94 pre 64 in 32 Win Spcl
Sako Finnwolf in 308---someday I might fire that thing.
So as you can see I am in a chasm! I have no idea what to use!

Don't get me started on the Bees either!

I am with ya Fotis, although I don't have the WBY's to contend with, the Marlins and lever guns are really looking good for alot of hunting this year

I have my 1895G 45-70
M94 30-30
M336CS 35 Rem
BLR 358 Win that hasn't seen much hunting in awhile either.

I wished I had more time in elk country this year, cause I would love nothing more than to hunt elk with the 45-70. I guess I have been reading to many of TR's books. I think the last book I read had him take 3 bull elk with his 45-75! Scotty

I will say, when I pick up a 45-70, it will likely be the 1895 CB; it is a great looking rifle. The sole exception would be if I found an 1886 Winchester.

Yeah, pretty much like that. Consequently, that's just mean. You cut that out. Sweet looking rifle, though. Hmmmm.

Sorry Mike, I couldn't help myself! I figure if I can't hunt moose with my 45-70, I need to live vicariously through you.... Scotty

What a great wife. You must take good care of her. Or she likes it when you are out of the hosue shooting.

I have 3 45-70's My first I got when I was 18yrs old a 1884 trapdoor springfield cadet model-paid $75.00 the stock had been cut down and the guy thought the barrel had been to-it hadn't. My next was a 45-70 barrel 23" barrel for a contender carbine and this year a like new marlin 1895 guide gun and 8 factory boxes of ammo for 400.00. I like 45-70's -they shoot a big bullet and really dont kick to bad. I like shooting the 45-70's over my 264wm.
