Not to much of a story other than we saw over 300 Antelope in the 2 day hunt (y).
All three of us got mature bucks and it looks like my son's is going to make the Saskatchewan record book.
It really was a very easy hunt as there were only a 140 tags for the whole province.
We did get lucky as the day after we got home they got approximately 8" of snow .
I am going to try and put on the photos using my laptop not my cell .
My boy's is the last photograph

Blessings,
Dan

Congratulations, Dan. I thought Saskatchewan was flat? :? It looks positively vertical in some places.

Okay I will try to put the hunt into a story .
The season opened on Oct. 1st and we left Regina here at 3:30am opening day and got to the zone we could hunt about 1/2 hour after sunrise which I believe was 7:17am. We had just pulled off the Trans Canada highway when we saw our first herd of Antelope there were about 15 or so in the herd but no mature Bucks so we stopped and got ready for the hunt by changing into our colours and taking our rifles out of there cases. In the first hour we saw another 2 or 3 herds but there were no mature bucks so we kept driving.
Shortly after that we saw 2 bucks in a combined pea field and they were sparing so we stopped to watch them horse around :) the larger of the 2 was in our opinion close to what we were looking for and had white tips so my son (Mike) grabbed my bog-pod and walked into the field and sat beside a power pole. I ranged him at just over 350 yards, my son then readied to shoot when the buck started to walk towards him so Mike waited still not sure if he was going to take him and the buck kept coming until I told him he was now at 225 yards  the buck then stopped and turned broadside to Mike he then asked me what I thought and I got the word it is up and there was the wack of a 270win and then the bang . He hit he Antelope in the neck and it was DRT.
We then field dressed him including skinning him out. My Son put away his rifle and pulled out his shotgun as we were see large flocks of Sharpies. We continued to see a number of Antelope but nothing mature. My nephew Austin had his muzzle loader as we had Mule deer tags as well but they could only be hunted with a Muzzle loader until rifle starts on November 1st. Around 6:00Pm Mike spotted a flock of Sharpies on the crest of a hill so we drove to with 30 yards of them and got out Mike shot the last of his limit and at the same time spotted a mature buck out at about 400 yards so we got out and my nephew grabbed my 280AI as we knew that it was too far for his smoke stick. I ranged the buck at 350 but again as Austin started to watch him kneeling at his shooting sticks the Antelope began to trot towards him  and at 140 yards, Austin put a 150gr. ABLR out of my 280AI in his boiler room game over!!
That night we got a heck of a rain storm with a great lightning and thunder show the next day we again started spotting Antelope but could not find anything real mature until around 1:00pm when we spotted a small herd with a decent buck so I got out and set up (y) I was just about to squeeze one off when Mike told me to wait a minute as he saw something coming over the hill so I waited and sure enough a Antelope with a really quite a wide spread came into view my son stated the range was 285 yards but like the other 2 bucks he was walking right towards me. As he got to the herd the younger buck left the scene and the older buck was still walking towards me and both the boys were teasing me stating he was going to walk into the truck so I thought to myself that at a 100 yards I was going to take him and at exactly 105 yards did he not only stop he turned broadside so I pulled the trigger 8).

Blessings,
Dan

DrMike, I am still trying to learn how to get this photo transferring done correctly . I think it will be a never ending process .
Sorry!!
PS. Just got a text from the butcher our animals have been processed with about 90lbs of sausage half fresh Polish & the other half fresh Ukrainian .

Blessings,
Dan

That will be some fine sausage, I have no doubt. Dan, do your editing (rotating, etc.) prior to attempting to post.

DrMike, when I attached the file it shows the photos to be right side up but then when it post it does not do that .
When I go to upload attachment is shows the file (Photo) right-side up.

I will try right now.

When I import your photo into Photobucket and then post on the site, this is what I get, Dan.

Still, that was an excellent hunt for you fellows! (y)

Those are some fine looking speed goats. Really nice! Hope I get to go again some day. Watching 300 goats with a rifle across my knees sounds like paradise. Beautiful country...hills just get in the way.... CL

Did anyone ever say all good hunts had to be hard??
Easy is good sometimes , how many years to get drawn, with all 3 of you pulling one of the 140 tags ?? That my friend may have been the hard part if the hunt ..
Congrats to you all .. I wish you kept the snow a bit to the east of me though.

Congratulations on all of the successful hunts!
Those are really good looking specimens of antelope you have there!

DrMike, I do not use photo bucket I just go to up load attachments which is right under reply post. I then start from there it takes me to my down loaded photos .
Then I attach the photo file.
It is likely the wrong application to use but it really is simple for me and I need simple .

Blessings,
Dan

Yeah, I see what is happening. When I go that route, the same thing happens to me. The correction is to rotate your photo before attaching the file. FWIW, photobucket is quite simple (perhaps more simple, or at least as simple, as attaching the file.

S7, I have been applying for Antelope ever since they closed the moratorium on them a number of years ago. We put in on a group bases and actually we have a 4th guy with a tag but he got not get to hunt them opening weekend.
The good news is the season runs to November 9th and we are going to be back in that zone for rifle Mule deer that starts on November 1st .
We were drawn for skin head Moose as well in the south eastern part of Saskatchewan and my nephew's ranch is there .
That season starts this coming Saturday and we will be down there for sure. There could be a slight problem as we have had so much wet snow that the fields might be tough to get a animal out of :(. We don't want to rut up the wet fields or our hunting privileges could be gone very quickly!!
We have probably have permission to hunt about a 25 mile square area around the Ranch (y).
I also want to thank you all for the kind words of encouragement.

Blessings,
Dan

DrMike, I am all for simple if you could send me the instructions on getting the photos to photobucket and then to the post I would really appreciate it. I will snap a photo of the instructions and then I will attempt to start doing that way (y).
Again thank you for helping me .

Blessings,
Dan
