I'm curious as to what a 338 RCM, 20 inch barrel could do with the Woodleigh 300 RN? If it could get to 2200fps, it would be in the category or the old .333 Jeffry! Since we have these newer powders, I thought maybe someone had crunched some numbers or scratched their head about this? I can find 250gr data. N550 really steps it up. How available is N550?

Jimminicrickets! ha I had no idea it could be pushed that fast. I was kinda running it over in my head about the powder capacity. I got 2400 with the 310 in that 35 WAI, but it had to be pretty high pressure, though easy to shoot/eject, etc. That definitely puts the little rifle but in the bigger leagues, if so wanted! Whether or not I could hold onto it is another story! ha But even at 2200, it will be deadly out to 250yds, or as far as I would take a shot with that set up. I have some 250 NAB that should go 2400 pretty easy too. Thanks again sir! Rev Jim

Thank you sir! I finally found your postings of QL data for another 338 RCM owner, so I am "set"! Now, it was "your" posting about the N560 in your 280 that had me get some of it, after a couple year wait, ha. Is N550 ( I found it online) "temp stable for cold" as well as the N560? I lean hard on R15 for similar rounds, is N550 similar in burning rate/pressure?
