Anyone watching Detroit?

Hi all,
Seems to me that unfunded or underfunded entitlements, health care and collective bargaining are about to come under the gun. (in a manner of speaking)
They're talking about a city manager being appointed. Can't be good.
18% unemployment and no tax base (36% reported below or at poverty level) sounds pretty grim.
This stuff boils me.
Thoughts?

Ps; Mods, if I've crossed the line here, feel free to pull it.

Detoilet also has $2 billion in unfunded pension funds out of a $14 billion total that they have promised and can not possibly raise the funds to pay out on, ever! They have a $200 million interest note coming due that they have no money to pay! They will default soon!

Progressives in Detoilet had better talk to Obama about Sequestration!

Unfortunately these same people keep voting for the democrats and their mass numbers keep MI a D state.
I stay clear of Detroit as much as possible but am always armed when I am there. BTW, I NEVER buy my fuel in Detroit and always go into da hood with a full tank.

I noted a news item yesterday indicating that Detroit topped the misery index for major American cities. No surprise there. What was interesting was that the top ten cities on the misery index were governed by Democratic mayors or (in the case of NYC) by a mayor identified with another party who governed as a liberal.

and therein lies the problem.

The mayor in NYC is one step short in a lot of different ways. I would be willing to bet that in the near future (somewhere under the table) money is going to find its way to Detroit for an emergency bailout. Too many unions for Obama to ignore them.
