Planning a hunt in 2015 and wondering if anyone would care to share some info on guides or ranches they have used.--or other info worth sharing just for fun

NM is a draw and easy to pull. Lot's of guides but I cannot recommend one. Plenty of public land. Very hard to glass, neat country, and yes they eat well. I go again in February. Good luck!

I've tried three years unsuccessfully to draw NM- are you being mean with that "easy to draw" comment-lol

Unit 30? My buddies NR even draw? Maybe I have just been lucky but I do not think all tags get allotted. Would never tease about such important matters! Good luck!

I've not applied for thirty before- nonresident so my odds aren't as good as yours(and I believe that's the way it should be)but I will definitely try, try again! Thanks for the reply and healthy sense of humor!

I took this 32 1/2" ram on La Coma in south Texas.

Is audad an animal you can do a do it yourself hunt on with a reasonable chance for success? I think they would be a really fun animal to hunt.

No, there are no free-ranging aoudad in this country.

You must pay to hunt them on private land.

There are plenty in Texas, Guy.

Like everything else, it just takes time and money.

Couple of ewes from last year NM public land.

The country they roam. I'll be back in February hunting with a non resident so put in!

Shot this one a year ago this past weekend at Creedmore's place north of Del Rio, Tx.
Pretty much considered a nuisance there.
As far as table fare ?
No thanks.

Makes a cool mount though.

You are correct! NM has a good population on public land. Tags are by draw only and no point system yet. Most tags are allotted to residents but a small percentage are reserved for out of state guys like me. Thirty two inches is a real monster! Congrats on that big un and thanks for the info, I am researching those suggestions. I guess the cape buff is ok too. ( smiley face!)
