Applied Ballistics For Long Range Shooting (book)

Amazon refeers me to some place called Butler Rare Books.

Which for some asinine reason they think its worth $100.

And Barnes & Noble doesn't carry it.

If a shooter is really interested in long-range ballistics, then it's a worthwhile read. I got it a few months ago and have picked my way through it. Pretty well written. Covers bullets from several manufacturers.

Not a loading manual - you won't find load data in it.

You will find a lot of good info about how consistent various bullets perform at longer ranges, and some good explanations about why. The author is apparently a real whiz at math, but wrote the book so that the rest of us can understand it too!

Worthwhile? Only if you want a LOT of info on long-range bullets/ballistics. He touches on both competition and hunting uses of the bullets. I'm glad I bought the book.

Thank you for everything you put in to your response!!!!!

I've been struggling with my decision, ever since I tripped over his site, whether or not to choke up the $40.

But everything you explained here, made my decision simpler, by a "Long Shot"!
