Buddy of mine made some of these and I think he did a bang up job.
A copy of an old Trapper Nelson Indian Pack from back in the 20's.
Done all the build and finish work himself. He heated the strips in a big pot of water then bent them over a form to dry. He then morticed the curved strips into the pack frame.
His wife sowed the cotton webbing onto the canvas and fastened the steel grommets.
I got a black bear rug with the head mounted on it......my plan is roll up that hide and truss it onto the pack and hang it on the wall as a decorative piece.
