In the most recent edition of Shooting Times, there is a article on Partition bullets. In that article is a picture of a Ballistic Tip bullet and an AccuBond (page 65). Other than the color of the tip, I can not see any differences. Can someone tell me the simple facts of how they differ?
Thanks.

The bal tips have different thickness of jacket, the varmint ones are thinner than those meant for thin skinned big game, they are a bit thicker.

The accu bonds are a bonded core bullet and will do better in big game as they won't seperate as easy and you can use them for deer, elk, bear etc.

I have come to really like the AccuBond bullets for deer, antelope and coyotes.

dkmlever,

coyotetrapper is correct, the AB had a bonded core while the BT does not.
You will also find that the AB has a thicker jacket than the BT in the shank area of the bullet. This area of the bullet retains its shape to help support the mushroom and drive it for deeper penetration.
