Is this a powdered metal core bullet? Or some other marvel of modern engineering? I'm interested because I think we'll all be lead free eventually, the way this country's going. Bunch of sissies. Anyway, I'd love more information on the construction of the lead free BT's.

It is a mushroom cloud, which is a slight exaggeration but I thought it would be fun as well. :grin: The core is described as a fragmenting copper core, it's not a compressed powder like a lot of the other lead free varmint bullets out there. Visit http://www.nosler.com/btleadfree.htm and you'll see a computer generated graphic representation of what I'm talking about. As far as the price, they are the same MSRP as regular Ballistic Tips. The Noslers were very adamant in keeping the price the same. It makes sense since the people that are buying the bullets probably didn't vote for the lead ban in the first place. :?

Like is or not, "lead free" is likely the wave of the future. Look at the changes imposed on shotgunners and the imposition of non-lead fishing weights on people wishing to fish in a growing number of jurisdictions. We should be grateful that Nosler is anticipating the potential and working out solutions before they are imposed.

The largest that we have scheduled at this point is the 6mm. As far as future offerings are concerned, I really don't know what will happen. For right now the Ballistic Tip Lead Free picks up where E-Tip stops, and vice-versa. It gives Nosler a full range of lead free projectiles.

I just received the new unleaded bts and will try them in 22 hornet and maybe 221 fire ball, lil gun for the hornet and reloader #7 for 221. What say you nosler?
