So here's what the "back door politicians" are up to in St Paul. I suspect it is the same in many places, unfortunately. Sooner or later, if we cant find positive ways to fight stuff like this the uninformed and wrongly informed will find a way to take our sport away from us. Cant believe the "brass" of a couple of these proposed bills and the fact that they get no notice or press. Where is Federal Cart. in all this? Being just down the road, you'd think they'd have a vested interest in fighting this and helping get the word out..,
As I understand it, the following are proposed:
HF 3570 – Semi-automatic Firearms Ban
· This bill prohibits the sale, purchase, or transfer of most semi-automatic rifles, many semi-automatic shotguns, and some semi-automatic pistols.
· Existing owners are grandfathered but may not sell, gift, or transfer the firearms.
· Chief Author: Rep Leigh Finke (DFL, HD 66A)

SF 3477 – Ban on Carry in Libraries
· This bill prohibits the carry of firearms in libraries by permit holders.
· Chief Author: Senator Mary Kunesh (DFL, SD 39)

- A bill for an act relating to environment; prohibiting the use of lead ammunition when hunting; prohibiting the sale, manufacture, and use of lead tackle; establishing a nontoxic
ammunition performance standard for shooting sports facilities; requiring nontoxic
ammunition in school shooting sports; requiring reports; appropriating money;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, sections 38.33; 38.331, subdivision 1; 87A.02,
subdivision 2; 87A.10; 97A.045, by adding a subdivision; 128C.02, by adding a
subdivision; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapters 38; - 97B; 97C; 325E.
- There is also a buy back and voucher program that must be funded.
