There is a fascinating report concerning bear hunting in BC. The natives are increasingly protective of their territories, and appear to be attempting to compel hunters to pay them for the privilege of hunting. Knowing of the amount of unethical hunting that takes place within some native communities, I'm cynical whenever I read an article such as this. Nevertheless, it does not bode well to read such news items. It will be fascinating to see if the government holds firm, or folds. If the NDP (socialists) is elected in this next election, you will likely see a major reduction in bear hunting in this province.

I see the same thing happening with deer in northern Minnesota near the native reservations. Slob hunters (mainly natives) who shoot deer out of vehicles while they are driving around drinking beer and than blame it on the "city" hunters??? My land is surrounded by native owned land that they say we should not be able to hunt on, yet they would never think about getting out of their vehicles to actually hunt it.

Same is true here.
The late season is a joke. The deer are in the deer yards. Bait piles are put 40 yds off the road and the deer are shot. If they run, most are not recovered as it is too much work going after them.
