Best group ever with a #1 well almost.

I'll do a Euro mount for a cape buffalo should I get one, so it can go on the wall beside my Euro mounted bison.
I have been thinking of this more over the years...and finally being up close to a 40"+ buffalo in May was an exciting experience, even though I wasn't hunting one! An incredible animal that one doesn't fully appreciate in pictures or on tv...one must be up close and in person!
I was wishing for my 416 Taylor at that moment!
(even though it wasn't in my budget on that trip...but it doesn't stop one from wishing!)

We bumped into a couple of real good bulls last May. They got my attention just like the grizzlies did when I was guiding in Alaska. The difference; with a 300 in my hands I figure I've a good chance to stop a grizz. With that same 300 in my hands and a buff with his head up and ears back at 30 yards, I didn't like that one bit.

But I'd take that 300 over nothing in that instance!
I would still try to put one in its brain, if it was on its way in!
Glad you didn't have to use it...but I can imagine your heart rate was through the roof!

That is what my PH said. “If he comes his nose will be up, right over the nose between the eyes.” We eased back and up the hill last I saw he was still under the acacia tree.
