Well if you think the pictures of 50-60 lb Coyotes look big to you , check out this animal they are posting on Facebook that was soposedly shot in Mid Maine a week or so ago............... I have no idea if this is true, real, valid, or a hoax but this is what they posted.
Just a quick quess having shot wolves in Alaska for years this is way over a hundred pound animal??? Sorta hard to tell, without knowing how big that fella is ????? But at any rate he could certainly eat ALOT of deer meat and probably has been!!! The ears look "long" to me for a wolf?? And I am wondering if this is a picture of a big coyote, that has been photoshoped, infront of this guy?:|

Holy smokes. That does look huge! If it's a coyote, someone needs to call Boone and Crockett!

Makes me wonder if it is altered, but I imagine you all have the ability to grow some big dogs up there..

It would certainly be a gigantic coyote, and a surprisingly large wolf. Photoshopped or not, it is quite an impressive picture.

Looks like a wolf to me. Not sure on the size. The guy is not standing right next to it, but a bit back and to side a bit. Due to the way camera lenses work, methinks it may not be quite as large as it seems, altough it is one hell of a big dog. I remember a picture of the late Les Bowman who shot a few wolves and had them hanging frpom the strut of a Super Cub, IIRC and the caption said they were 140 pound animals. The one in this picture could possibly be that heavy.
I've only seen two wolved in the wild. This was up i the Kaibab national Forest while on a deer hunt. Looked like a mating pair maybe 250 yards across w large wter hole. At first I thought the were a couple of large coyotes and they had such beautiful long winter coats that I was tempted to shoot them. Even though hide prices were way down at the time those would have brought top dollar. Later that day, I was talking to a Game Warden who was checking licenses and told him of the big coyotes I saw. He tole me it was a good thing I didn't shoot them as that was a mating pair of Mexican Gray Wolves they recently introduced to the area. While I said nothing, my mind was say, Well, there goes the best deer herd in the state. :(

The reason that I say Photoshopped is that the shadows of the wolf and of the person do not align on the same axis.

Now they have added to the story ................. it was soposed killed in Buckfield Me on
April 15th buy this dude that had previously LOST his German Sherpard to this same animal in a terrific fight last year in the same spot he killed it in last week???? He is claiming that this animal attacked his Shepard and had its whole head in its mouth when he went over and tryed to save the Shepard this animal ran off. The Shepard died later from the injurys. He claims he told people but no one would believe him until NOW!!!
You got me its a weird story and a weird photograph
