A buddy of mine drew a coveted bighorn ram tag for our local hunting area this year. The odds are very much against drawing these once-in-a-lifetime tags. He made the most of it, scouting hard for a couple of months. It all paid off a few days ago when he brought down a good looking 170 class "California" bighorn ram.
I don't have his permission to post a photo yet, but wow, it's a great looking ram! I'd seen that ram in the past while hiking and mountain biking that area earlier this year. He's not as big as the world record ram another buddy took nearby a couple of years ago, but it's a good looking, impressive ram.
Rifle? My buddy is one of those guys who truly does have only one hunting rifle, a .30-06. Mostly he hunts mule deer, a few days every year. Usually gets his buck. This year, he's got a ram too. I'll see about getting a photo or two posted eventually, but meanwhile - just think of a big ol' bighorn ram taken on high bluffs above the Columbia River.
*hang on! I'm getting the photos uploaded! 10/04.
Regards, Guy
