Black Rifles (Or Maybe Not)

Man I just got back from a gunshow here in KC today and there were AK's, and AR's everywhere.........And at RIDICULOUS prices. Plain jane Bushmaster m4 variants for 2300... FIRM. I just laughed. Pistol magazines quadruple normal price. And people were paying it.

I did score two sets of Trijicon nite sites for my G19 and G30 for 170 out the door.

I have a Rock River built rifle that has been a fun tool to play with and has become my sons favorite rifle to carry when he is going on hikes on our hunting land. It has become serious medicine for porcupine reduction and a few grouse this past fall. I never considered getting another, since it is just a fun plinking rifle and was never a serious hunting rifle.

One of my brothers called me yesterday to see if I knew of any for sale at a decent price. Once the search was on, it became apparent pretty fast that they are hard to find for anything less than BOHICA prices  . I called the range where I shot last summer that is on the property where DPMS manufactures their rifles and found a couple yet at a decent price (under $1000). I not a huge fan of DPMS, but you take what you can get at this point. Once the supply chain is built back up, I still don't think you will see any of these rifles under $1000. Best thing about this range next to DPMS is that they test the remington ammo on the range and leave piles of empties laying on the ground, so there is an endless supple of once-fired brass available. .
