bullet preformance

I really don't think Sierra cares to invest in a true "premium" bullet. Since most hunters are shooting deer, their soft fragile bullets with a history of fine accuracy will work for most of the reloading public who use their bullets. Even if the hunting segment were to be dropped, Sierra would still keep the doors open with their "match" lineup.

I have killed a few animals with the GameKing without issues, but I do prefer a bullet that has a thicker tapered jacket and have not used Sierra for a while. Once you cross section a Sierra, you will see why they are known to be fragile and accurate. They are quite soft and have a thin jacket with very little, if any, taper towards the base.

I have zero issues with people who shoot Seirra bullets. Yes, that HPBT is one tough bullet, but it is of different construction than other Sierra bullets. I just do not consider them "premium" in any way. It will be just a matter of time, along with some political agenda, before Sierra's hunting days are over.

Sales of their hunting bullets at the moment do not support the fact that Sierra's hunting days are anywhere near over and if theirs are so is Berger's days and their sales for hunting is growing. Their will be a place for them if sales of the game king is any indication. I certainly disagree with your last statement based on evidence of sales. That does not mean that you do not have some information that would verify your claims and if so then you could be right.

Yes as POP verifies and you are correct in recalling. I am glad I have good supply of bullets of all kinds so if something is not produced in the near future I will have some for a while at least. I hope no one goes under and that all the companies that make bullets find a way to survive for the next year and a half and if they do they will be in the clear and things will slowly begin to pick up.

Consider how many bullets one match shooter or Target/Tactical shooter will use in 1 year. One of these guys will use more bullets than dozens of
hunters. Sierra is the most successful in this field & I think it became THE focus.
