bullet seating question?

This might be a stupid question but i must ask..is bullet seating length measured (oal) where the ogive contacts the rifling?

oal is to the tip. a much better way and more accurate way is the ojive,measure a few bullets,base to tip and you will see why.

In my opinion the critical lenth is to the ogive, because that is where the bullet will contact the lands, but it is hard to measure. So I use OAL as reference. Just be sure to remeasure if you use any different bullet.

base to ojive is most important, high pressure will develope if the bullet is into the lands.
