W748 for 7mm-08?

Those are some very nice 3 shot groups! Your data has me a little confused though. Is there a bunch of combos not shown that were not as accurate or? That’s to be expected….

That's the full window today. Couldn't believe it myself. That rifle is a gem.

Did not have very good results with my Cooper 25-06AI today and didn't want to clutter the thread with non related info. All those groups were over 1".

$600 rifle crushed the $3K rifle today.

I’m not sure what I’m more jealous about….you’re $600 stainless Tikka 7mm-08 or the 1/4-1/2 moa groups it shoots. My m70 featherweight looks and feels great but it doesn’t shoot like that!

I stumbled over it in a Cabelas Gun Library. Had been looking for a low cost replacement for a Rem 700 Stainless BDL I trade a few years ago and regretted ever since. Let a used Tikka slip a couple months back and then walked into this one. 40th Anniversary RMEF edition being clearanced out. Couldn't find any info about the "limited edition" except the stamp on the receiver and the details on the box? No info online that I can find. Standard black stock and stainless action / barrel. Does have an oversized bolt knob however and receiver engraving. Put Talley light weights and a VX6 on it.

Side note of thanks to everyone who shared data for the OP. My search for a new combo (7MM-08) options led me here. Since 4007SSC was recalled, I had to start over. Lots of great info shared and truly appreciate it.

I have been hand loading since 1986 and shoot weekly. I will try to be a resource when appropriate and help where I can as well.

145gr LRX with RL-17 would be a good deer killing machine.
That is exactly where I'm leaning. I'm still going to try RL16 and Big Game but I think the combo you mentioned will be hard to beat for hogs / deer. That combo was also listed as "most accurate" in the Barnes data for the 145 LRX.

I'm messing with a new 7 mm-08 myself anyone no what the max load with 6.5 staball with a 140 grain nbt would be ?Not trying to high jack thread just can't find any data with this powder bullet combo .

Welcome to the forum. I have tried just about everything in the 7mm-08. Ramshot Big game is your huckleberry. I settled on this load for everything.

You could walk into the bush with any of those loads be completely confident. I look forward to seeing your chrono results. Those tikkas certainly shoot.

I use a magnum primer with ball powders regardless of cartridge (excluding .223 Rem).

A 150 ELDX at 2790 is no joke. BC of .574 carries 1800 fps waaaaaay out there.
