Case IDs?

I bought some 357 Mag brass.
In the bag were a couple of cases I have questions about.
One of them looks like a small rifle case.
Case length is 1.130 and inside diameter appears to be around .219 although this measurement may not be accurate.
The second case is marked 38 Special C but is only .750 long. My guess was a round for a starter pistol but I really have no idea.
A little help from a participant in this forum would be appreciated.

With the help of a good magnifying glass I was able to ID the first brass. It is a 5.7x28. First one I've seen and this one is new on me. I need to get out more often.
