Chet's 458WM build IT'S FINISHED!!!!

I rented a reamer from elkridge. I hand reamed , checking the go gage every ten turns until headspace was perfect. No lathe needed! Hey! Its so easy.... a caveman could do it!

You reamed the entire chamber by hand?

Or finished up the existing factory chamber?

I suspect the latter, but am not sure.

Have never done that, but have installed & headspaced already chambered rifle barrels on my old Model 70 match rifle.

Thanks, Guy

no, it was a "short chambered" barrel...... I only had to ream about .050".
sorry for the confusion.

I've got all the cerakoting finished, now I can finally reassemble for the last time!

Looking good Chet. I have a BRNO 602 in 458 that got the cerakote treatment as well.

Very nice finish, Chet. That will impart a handsome look to the completed rifle.

Now I just need to work on my photography skills......

Really a nice build and great cartridge but better you than me touching it off, I like feeling my brain, what's left of it.
Seriously it looks great and I like the fire forming technique.

I don't think there's much wrong with you photography skills, either. Not sure how you'd improve on pic #5 in the original post
Great write-up, and craftsmanship, thanks!
