cleaning rod/brush problem

So I bought this nice 1 piece montana extreme cleaning rod for 22-26 caliber. Says 8x32 thread on the tube.

Next I buy montana extreme nylon brushes in 22, 6mm, 6.5mm for my calibers I shoot, they are 8x32 as well.

Well heres the problem, they only screw down about 1, maybe 2 threads and just stops, wont go anymore, and theres not near enough tension to keep that brush in place going down a barrel.

Whats the deal here???

I would check the threads inside the cleaning rod to make sure they are indeed 8-32. From what you are describing, it sounds like either the accessory tip threads are not the correct thread size of the rod threads are not.

You might try screwing in something that is KNOWN to be the correct thread. If that too does not enter, then get a new rod or take it back for replacement.
