I'm looking into a COAL gauage and wondered what type was being used/recommended. Any advice? I've been leaning towards the Hornady, but didn't want to jump into a purchase uninformed.

It is one of the easier to use and I consider it a good value for the price. I use mine during every rifle loading session.Rick.

Do you make your own modified cases, or buy them from Hornady?

I use the Hornady (originally, Stoney Point OAL gauge) gauge. It is a great means for measuring OAL of your cartridge. Buy it, by all means.

I make my own modified cases from brass fired in that rifle.Rick.
