I wanted to offer up some opinions on this...

Combined Technologies might be thought of as a marketing tactic by some but I can assure you it does offer a positive. I shot thousands of B/T bullets for years and when these hit I gave them a whirl...

One thing is for certain. The lubalox (black coating)does help in the cleaning. Might not be quite as the company sells as they state more shots between cleaning....but I can attest 110% that it does make cleaning significantly easier. Could you eek out a few more shots? Possibly but regardless when the time comes you feel the need to clean, it is so much easier getting the bbl back to a shine.

I've seen it net a few more FPS but not enough to get better trajectory. A few meaning 5-12 fps...again nothing to change your zero on your set up.

I offer this up to anyone who has wondered if paying a little more for the CT version of ballistic tip is worth it. To me it is worth it and I've used CT for personal loadings for years now and I advise the folks I load for who prefer to shoot ballistic tip bullets to shoot these because of the above mentioned reason.

+1 on the CT BT's. I've been loading the 300gr .458's for my .45-70, and not only are they a dream to seat (straight and smooth), but they group much better than the Hornady or Speer JHP's. I load them with IMR4320 and RL7 and WLR magnum primers.

Welcome to the forum sir~

I just took possession of my Ruger #1 25-06. I ordered 115 Ball Silvertips and 100 gr BT's. Got some accubonds coming also. Whatever she likes!

ive been loading ct for my .223 and the only thing you have to be careful of is that when seating the bullet the tip is slightly more fragile then that of a traditional bullet
