Well, I had to do it. Ordered a Sinclair concentricity guage to ck my case necks and bullet concentricity.

Why would I do this when all of my Sako's shoot under MOA :? I don't even shoot benchrest (except to try different loads and site in -of course I try different loads every other week  ). I guess I just had to know if concentricity and neck wall thickness makes a difference. I found myself sitting at the reloading bench looking at my assorted brass and wondering if each case was trustworthy. It went from that to wondering if my RCBS resizing dies and expander balls were on the money. So there goes another $100.00 so I can sleep better at night.

Any of you boys measure such things?

Picked up a RCBS concentricity tool a couple years back.
I don`t know about the sleepin` better. I haven`t slept a whole nite through since I got it..........

Joe,

What do you think . . . any profound difference in accuracy since you started using it?

Long

It may make a difference at longer range but at 200 yd which is the max I have access to I don`t see much gain if any. I get more from useing the bullets my rifle preferes or varying OAL then reducing runout.

I think the bench shooters that look for .01" gains in thier groups find more reduction then the average shooter with a Remchester rifle.

I can assure you it makes a great difference at long range - not so much under 300yds. at least for hunting. Not only do I measure all catridges for my 7mm Ultra Mag but I use a Bersin Device to correct any runout of the loaded round. The result is accuracy that has to be seen to be believed. I honestly think concentricity is the single greatest factor contributing to the accuracy of any catridge.

How much do one of these tools run? Also are they pretty user friendly to use? I dont have any experience with them, but if it helps LR accuracy, then I'm all about it.

I'm thinking I paid about $125.00 or so for mine directly from Bersin. I would advise doing a search and reading up on the device but I can assure you it will correct bullet runout and it does make a difference. I had custom dies made for my 7mm Ultra but still use the Bersin Device to bring runout to zero. A noted gunwriter has said he can correct runout by using a hold drilled in his bench and simply bending the bullet slightly when seated in the case but it did not work for me.
