Ah now, there's the thing Fotis. The rifle I bought has the 'peep sight' and I've already been in touch with a couple of very helpful German company's to find 'sidemount' scope bases/rings.
I don't want to damage the 'written text' by fitting base mounts to that part of the rifle....but, I do want to scope it. But I'm sure the peep sight will work a treat......it's just not 'modern' for hunting.
OT3, I also foolishly sold a couple of MSch 'stutzen' (full stock) rifles both 6.5x54MSch chambered.
Stupid stupid stupid......my only excuse is I was young and wanted to be 'modern'...!
Now 6mm R should my wife ask 'have you bought a new rifle' I can reply 'absolutely not my love, this is an old rifle, it's been around a long time'
Will I get away with it...probably not so my tin hat will be nearby!
