Looks pretty interesting, I know many are lamenting some of the 550 controlled round feed models are being replaced with a push feed but the 557 seems to have a lot of great features going for it. Best news for us lefties is there is a LH 557 being planned :) The 452 22 lr I have impresses me greatly so I am really looking forward to it coming out really like how the gun in the article looks.

Cool rounds like the 7x64 and 6.5x55 are fitted with a 1 in 8.7 twist and the 8x57 has a 1 in 9.4. The 243, 270 and 30-06 all come with a 1 in 10 while the 308 has a 1 in 12 twist.

I got a 452 "Special Training Rifle" a few weeks ago… really nice and accurate. Built like a real rifle too.

I like the 550s and I'll be interested in seeing a 557- especially a carbine!

Very handsome rifle with chamberings that should appeal to many people. So many rifles; so little time.

I could really see using a carbine in 7x64 (especially with it's fast twist and heavy bullets) or the ultra cool 8x57. Those are some really good looking guns.

The Sporter model comes with a Beech stock, interesting. Looks really good too and should be reasonably priced.

I was talking rifles with a friend the other day, mentioning that I was looking at Sako, and he steered me to CZ.
He has two CZ rifles and really likes them. I still have my heart set on a Sako but I just might have to go shoot his CZ Rifles just to check them out.

Those are two very cool cartridges, Gerry. I've only owned one CZ--s Mannlicher stocked 30-06. It was a neat little rifle.

Mike, I thought about you and the 7x64 since your love of 7mm rounds is well known.

Vince, The Sako is sure nice and is in my plans for sure, but am sure one of these LH 557's will find it's way here whenever they become available.

The article says they are moving towards shorter barrels instead of longer ones. The 520mm barrel works out to a hair under 20.5" many hunters will find those shorter barreled guns very handy.

Ugh!
I prefer longer barrels. I'd like a 26" barrel on a .270, needed or not, as it looks better I think.

A ballistic twin to the .280, and there's nothing wrong with that. Those I've worked with were every bit as accurate as the .280. Yeah, I'd take one into my tender care.
