The farmers in my area are finding lots of dead deer in the soy bean fields while harvesting the beans. No one seems to know what's killing the deer.
Today one farmer found what looked to be a healthy 14 point White tail dead in one of his fields.
We have seen some CDW and Blue tonge but these are easily defineable, what we are seeing is undiscribable.

EHD but they are usually found dead in or near water. We had EHD around here this year but a couple of hard frost had ended the epidemic.

Have to wonder if the boy beans are toxic to cervid? I've never heard of that, but I suppose it is a possibility. Or whether the fields were sprayed with something that is toxic to the animals?

A Portland transplant over by Burnt River had to learn a hard lesson a few years back. Apparently Japanese Yew trees are toxic to Pronghorn Antelope. Nearly 20 died in his ornamental tree plot.

Green grass tetany killed off about three dozen deer on my brother in laws place some ten years ago.

I bet it’s something along those lines…

Shouldn't be the soy beans, they are not toxic to deer, but like someone mentioned maybe something they treated the soy beans with.
