I thought I would try this Speer bullet since they (ATK) is a major employer here is Lewiston. I loaded 4?gn Hybrid 100V at 2.737". This I thought was going to be pretty warm load. No head expansion or ejector marks. Primer was slightly showing a pressure sign around the firing pin mark (crater). I only shot one group of about 6 or 7 shots at about 90 yds for kicks because I was really out playing with my new 17HMR. It was pretty windy so when I went down to get my target.....boy was I surprised! One ragged v shaped hole at 0.5" center max width.
I know this is just one group and it doesn't really mean much. But I was more pleased that this gun is finally able to group loads with the new stock. This load shot like my 95gn BT load, not in the same place of course. Unfortunately I didn't set my chrono up with the wind blowing so hard. I think it would have been blown over.
Anybody have any experience with this bullet or Boron Nitride coatings?
Thanks
