Try Boyds stocks. I have a wood laminate on my son's Ruger and it sure is sharp looking. It is a nutmeg laminate color that is the brown shades. I had it glass and pillar bedded and a gal did some checkering on it for us. It turned out really sharp!

POP, Stocky's might have one, and Richards Microfit would, though you'd have to finish sand it and apply your own clear.

I do not think the stocks are interchangeable with the standard 77 MKII stock! The target model is a little different and I am not only talking barrel diameter.

I thought about that Pop, but I bet a call to Boyds would answer that for you. I would think that the only thing that would have to be done would to open the barrel channel to get it to fit on the standard Classic stock that Boyds sells. The other dimensions should be the same for the Ruger long action in 25-06. I could be wrong though.

It would be a more streamlined stock and make it an easier carry rifle for sure. Hope I'm helping.

Dude... you can stick a "sporter" stock on it... but it still won't be an "easy packing rifle". It's akin to Rosie or Oprah losing 10 pounds... a good start for sure... but it don't get you anywhere near where you need to be.

What I was thinking. I would think the balance would be way far out front.

I do not mind the balance. I just hate the stock. Too damn bulky.
