In determining what barrel length you want per cartridge decide on your range? What parameters do you set?
Take a 300bo for example (a horrible 1 maybe) with a 10" barrel. What would be your max range with specific bullet weight and minimum velocity for that range?
Having 3 different 30cals with 3 different power factors along with bullet weights from 110-250gr gives a wide variety of options. Or do you look at it as "I can shoot that far regardless of.......... ?". I just like minimum velocity to be 2,700 per bullet weight and barrel length if I'm shooting 500 yards or more.
