I'm currently looking to upgrade semi autos for this years hunting season and was looking for input on the Panther 260 LR. I've read many reviews and most of the shooters claim they can shoot moa or better.

Have seen the DPMS rifles shoot very well against me in tactical competitions. From what I saw, they are easily capable of busting one MOA.

I have done " zero " with this gun other than throw some quick loads together.... a lot of different bullets.... mostly old ones just to get rid of them......it's shoots at or under MOA all day long......

One in a .260 would be awesome !

I have one of the BIG DPMS's, the 308LR with the 24" bull barrel.

I don't shoot it much at 100 yards, since getting a load worked up for it, but with Varget and 155-gn J4's from Nosler, I have now TWICE put ten shots into right around .8" at 100 yards. Ten shots. That's shooting pretty fast, too.

I am no great rifleman, so I KNOW the rifle is capable of much better than that.

If you are getting one, just go for the upgraded trigger right off the bat (Jard?). The stock trigger is a joke for precision stuff.

Here it is (I hope this is how you post photo's here):

It has a Leupold VX-II 6x18 AO on it. It's HUGE.

Jeff, that looks just like the ones that some of the guys are showing up with at the tactical rifle matches. They tend to shoot real well.

Good luck with it!

It's a ton of fun. I bought it to shoot long-range with it. It's really addicitive, once you get the 600-yard target doped out for the conditions of the day, to sit there and lob 155-gn J4's into it at will!!

Was shooting with a buddy up there and the vapor trails were blowing his mind... it's as much fun to spot for as to shoot! Of course that's true of any rifle, but, the volume of accurate fire you can put out with on of these things is amazing.

Will have to say, that is one clean looking rifle and sure enough business looking to boot. Nice

Yeah, it's a bit clean, no doubt about it!

The reciever is kind of wierd-looking at first ... just when you get used to the forward assist wart, and the brass deflector wart, on AR's.... then they go and make this big ol' receiver without them and then THAT looks strange!

I go round and round about whether I like it, though. I love the function, but the ergonomics of a big AR are wierd for me. Plus that "sproing" next to your ear with every shot is wierd. But it sure does function!

Powerstroke, if you don't mind telling us, how much did you pay for your panther. I think one in 260 would just be awesome.
