Going to try 180gr Etips in my 325wsm. Any sage advice about loading Etips? First time trying them.

My experience with the original E-Tip was finding best accuracy with .100" jump.
The current E-Tip has a band and I seat the bullet to the top of the band. Accuracy is very good.

Was the only difference the band?

I stayed away from them early on as I read many complaints of chasing accuracy far too much.

Only difference was the pressure band

I had no problems finding an accurate load for the 90 gr. E-tip in my son's Ruger MKII in 6mm Remington. The bullet also performs extremely well on game. So far that's the only E-tip I have used in our rifles, but I certainly need to load up some more to try. Thinking the 150 gr. E-tip in my 30-06 would be a great bullet out of my Ruger 1B.

I use E-Tips in .224, .277, .284, and .308 calibers. I’ve found that they perform best with slower powders. Slower than usual burn rates have let me get higher velocities before pressuring out. Nothing crazy slow, just a couple steps slower on the burn rate chart. They have also seemed less temperamental in regards to group size with slower powders.

EDIT: The powders I use are as follows. RL-26 in 270 Win, CFE223 in 223 Rem and 308 Win, and RL-23 with the 140gr E-Tip in 7mm Rem Mag. Velocities and accuracy have been great with all mentioned. Working on a H4895 load for 150gr E-Tips in 308 Win but only just starting work up. I would also like to try Staball HD in my 7mm Rem Mag’s. Have the powder but haven’t worked on a load with it yet.
