Taken while on my bicycle ride this morning, along the Columbia River here in central Washington:

Sadly, some resolution seems to be lost, using Photobucket.

We get a LOT of eagles here over the winter, and I've been meaning to get a good photo for some time. This morning, I think I managed to do so.

Thought I'd share with all you hunters!

Regards, Guy

Great photo, Guy. Always enjoy watching them. They are fascinating to watch as they glide so effortlessly.

They used to congregate in the thousands along several rivers in the lower mainland during the winter to feast on the salmon. I've had them perched in trees watching me fish. I reckon they were hoping for a meal.

Guy that is a beautiful photograph, he sure looks like he is concentrating on something.
Thank you for the post.

blessings,
Dan

I wish I had your eye, Guy.
That's another awesome photo.

Great picture...

There's getting to be several eagles around these days....I see them occasionally all over the country, even at home once in a while (good sized river at my back door)

Thanks guys. We get a lot of eagles along the Columbia and tributaries, all winter long. I've been meaning to make a serious effort at getting some good photos. Today I stuffed the camera in my backpack, and asked one of the ladies riding with us if she'd help me look for eagles. She's got a great eye for them and finds more than the rest of us. We found a few, I got a few photos, then we found this guy, on an old utility pole. He wasn't far away and wasn't in the least concerned about the presence of a couple of bicyclists.

This photo was one of about three that came out pretty well.

Regards, Guy

Looks like he wants to deliver some serious justice and liberty in the name of freedom.

Great pic-

Great picture Guy. There are a lot of eagles in my area of florida and on occasion in my yard. Our area has what are called "wood rats". They live under the low lying palms. Occasionally they get stupid and wander out on the lawns which invites a quick meal for our larger feathered friends. We've had red hawks and eagles come dive bombing down in our yard on many occasions and I can tell you their accuracy is uncanny.

Thanks guys. Pretty soon the osprey will start showing up.

Eagles and osprey do NOT play well together. Eagle often lets the osprey fish, then takes the fish away. They don't co-exist here along our rivers and lakes real long though. The eagles mostly head back north to Canada and Alaska by March/April, which is when the osprey show up.

I'll see what I can do about osprey photos too! Liking this little camera!
