This afternoon I had to drive from Portland to Pendleton Oregon. Being the last day of Oregons first elk season I expected to see a few elk racks before it got to dark. With a combined closing speed of about 150 mph, no one drives the posted 65 on I 84, I'm sure I missed seeing a few, but in the first 60 miles I counted 35 branch antlered Bulls attached in one fashion or another to west bound vehicles, including one 300 inch bull on a Honda Civic. Looks like first season crew did well, can't wait till next week when I get to go.
