I never have cared for the fit of the Encore synthetic buttstock, especially the comb height when using a low mounted scope. I'm not built all that weird but couldn't achieve a decent cheek weld. I've used a couple aftermarket tape and foam solutions and they have drawbacks as far as I'm concerned. I studied what else was available and turned to my box of scrap leather. The actual riser is a stack of layered leather (glued) covered with leather stitched and laced.
