Expansion

I'm shooting a 7mm mag and I'm using noslers CT140 grain ballistic tip and noslers 150 grain ballistic tip bullets. My question is,will both of these bullets expand on deer within 100 yds?

Expansion? 7mmRM, 140 gr BT at less than 100yds? You will get expansion, and a lot of it!
The Bt's are designed to expand at impact velocities from 1600 fps up to 3000 fps. http://www.noslerreloading.com/phpBB2/v ... php?t=1347

Since you will have velocities at the top end of the design parameters,
I would go with either the AB or PT.
The 140 gr PT is a awesome bullet. :wink:

Yes I agree,at less then 100 yards with a 7 mag it will not only expand but damn near explode! You will not have to worry about following a blood trail for too long.Good luck.

Those 140 bts are messy. I shot a doe in the neck at about 40 yards almost took her head off :lol:
