Father's Day bear & bucks

My oldest son did me the favor of spending most of the day with me. We had a blast!

A bald eagle strafed us! He was too fast for the camera though. Or at least for this photographer.

We came across a very good looking "black" bear. I've mentioned before that our bear come in different "color phases" as they're called. This one was blonde with a cinnamon colored head & legs! Bears like this are sometimes mistakenly identified as grizzlies. Was unable to get a quality photo, but I think this one is good enough to give you the idea:


Perhaps I can find him again in August? :grin:

We also found several mule deer, including these three bucks hanging out together in their summer coats with antlers in velvet. A couple look like they're going to be "shooters" comes this season:

Awesome! Glad you had a great time! Color phase bears are beautiful! Had an opportunity at one similar to that one about five years ago, but it was a sow with cubs, so it got to walk. Thanks for sharing, Guy!
