For those of you who own 270 Win's, 270 Wsm's and 270 Wby's.

1 - Favorite cup and core bullets

2 - Favorite premium bullets

Would be neat to see what you guys and select gals are using and why.

Just starting out with the 270 Win but am leaning towards the heavier 140 and 150 gr Ballistic Tips, 150 gr Hornady Interlock and 150 gr Speer Hot Cor in the first category and the 140 gr AccuBond and 150-160 gr Partition in the second. Like the idea of using a medium to heavyweight bullet for all around use in this area.

For my 270 WSM, my favourite bullet is the 130 grain E-Tip; it has served me well. I have a large stash of 140 grain Sierra Game Kings that may get a look/see shortly.

I like the 130gr bullets in the .270WIN.

The BT and AB are pretty good and the Speer Hot Cor is tough to beat for the regular old "cup and core" bullets.

I've also got some of the Trophy Bonded Bearclaws that are pretty good too.

130 gr. Partitions & Accubonds are all I load for a buddy for everything from antelope to elk. Federal 215 Primers and H4831SC.

I've killed more than a dozen whitetails and more javelina than I can remember and they all were taken with the 130 Sierra flat base pushed out by IMR-4350 at around 3080. I used that load in two different rifles a Rem 700 and Win 70 featherweight (USRA). That bullet was devastating on deer. Until this past year I hadn't hunted with a .270 in over 20 years. The 7mm rem mag became the king of hill for me. This past year I got back into the .270 win and decided the 130 Partition is what I wanted to shoot. I ultimately took a smallish muley buck and the 130 Partition performed very well. So absolute my favorite cup and core bullet is the 130 Sierra flat base and my favorite premium is the 130 Partition as its the only premium .270 I've ever killed anything with.

I don't own a .270 but I help my brother load for his. He likes shooting the 130's for deer and his favorite bullets in no particular order are the Speer Hot-Cor, Sierra Pro Hunter and the Nosler BT's. He tends to shoot the Speer Hot-Cor more than the other two.

I run the 150 Ballistic Tip and 150 Partition in my 270 WSM. Accuracy is very good. Both of them shoot the same load of RL22. I also have a fairly good sized stash of 150 grain Bitterroot Bonded Cores that shoot to the same POI as the PTs. I really like my 270. It's my small'ish bite rifle that's done a lot of hunting for me. I really need to use it more in the future.

Seems like every time I carry it, I have a lucky day....

...my favorite .270 bullets are 6.5 & 7mm...

...honestly, the only 2 loads I do for the .270, a Browning A-Bolt Stalker w/ a cut down stock, are a bunch of 90gr. TNT 'plinking' loads for the kids to shoot pdawgs, pop bottles, rocks, & targets, & a 150gr. GrandSlam over 55.5grs. of RL-17 for a 'hunting load'. Not a high BC, but under 400yds. that's not a major concern, consistent accuracy & terminal performance in the line of "Mo'Dedder"...

I have been shooting the 270 win for many years. I have some either 100 or 110gr sierras sitting in my cupboard and have likely had them there for 25 years or more.
I have never seen any need to change from 130gr Partitions until I started to use the 130gr AccuBond. I place them over top of 55.0grs of IMR4350 and they have taken every big animal here in Saskatchewan from Antelope to Moose. The only Saskatchewan big animal I have not shot with the 270win is a caribou and that is because I can not get a tag from them.
I will always have a place in my vault for that calibre.

Blessings,
Dan

Another good one is the 140 AB. Taken elk and deer with it from the WSM. Pretty good bullet. I load that same bullet in my little brothers 270 Win. No dead deer yet, but I'm 100% sure it's going to work well.

150gr Nosler Partition and 150gr Norma Oryx for me, killed 3 Moose with the Oryx, great bullet.

Lou

That is a horse of a bullet. The Oryx is a danged cool game bullet. I am a Nosler guy through and through, but I like everything I see from the Oryx's, high weight retention, generous frontal area and velocity doesn't seem to hurt them at all.

Me too pal, I love Nosler bullets, my favorite has always been the 210gr PT in .338, man it just smacks game down!.I always pick the best bullet for caliber that shoots the best, and makes it act bigger than the next caliber :) ...so many choices out there :)
