I cant remember the exact amount of powder but its a max load of reloader 22 and 140 sierra hpbt gamekings, this is the most accurate load that I have found for our 270s, the b-tips shoot good with this load to. I have also found that IMR 4350 shoots good with a b-tip.
I like the 140grain AccuBond with either 53grs of H4350 or 58grs of H4831SC in a Winchester Cases and Winchester Primers. Seat it to 3.250" OAL. The mv for the 4350 load is like 2880 fps, and the mv for the 4831 is more like 2960 fps, both shoot real good!
58.5g of h4831sc or RL-22 with 150g NBT or SBT. Winchester case, Fed 210 primer, seated to touch the lands. Excellent accuracy and velocity out of the 22" remington BDL. I was getting 2950-3000fps and .5MOA. Would make very good long range deer/antelope loads...
I'm on my fourth favorite load, which I've decided to make my baseline load, the one that I'll compare all others to. All the following use Winchester Brass, and WLR primers.
1) 130 gr Sierra GKBT, 49.5 gr IMR 4320.
2) 140 gr Sierra HPBT, 59 gr RL-22.
3) 140 gr Sierra HPBT, 58.5 gr H-4831sc.
4) 130 gr Nosler Solid Base, 59 gr. H-4831sc.
Each of these is very accurate in my rifle, but I've settled on the 130 Nosler Solid Base as my standard.
For our Blacktail deer, the Sierra 130 would be fine. I believe the Sierra 140 HPBT is too hard, and the 130 Nosler SB sounds like it'd be perfect.
As luck would have it, I got a ton of seconds from Nosler's Pro Shop at a very good price, and they print to the same POI as the 130 Nosler Partition, which is nice if I should ever want to step up to a premium bullet.
Otherwise, I plan to use these 130 SBs to practice, practice, practice on paper, and if the opportunity presents itself, I'll use them for varmint hunting (in addition to deer).
55 grns IMR-4350 with 130 grain AB. The ballistic tip works great but not a very close range. I'll use the same load with BT's when I'm clear-cut or powerline hunting.
