Favorite 338 WM load?

Nosler 225grain AccuBond
72.5 grains of Alliant Reloader RL19 powder..

Been working good for me

I have not yet chronoed them yet...buy I estimate they are about 2850 to 2900FPS.

hunting1,

What do you plan on hunting with your 338 WM?

I worked up a great load in my dads 338. Its a rem 700 S/S. We used the 225g SST and a max load IMR-4350, according to the Nosler book. Were getting 3/4" at 100 yards, and good for 2750fps.

I too am using 72.5 gn of RL19 for the 225 Accubonds. Now being in CA, my velocities averaged around 2750 from my 26" barreled Browning w/the BOSS. I'm guess they'll be faster in the higher altitudes.

Reloader 19 @ 75.1 w/225gr AB or TSX
and 73.0 w/250gr SBT

WLR Primer
FC Nickle Cases

Tried RL 22 with the 338 Win but RL 19/IMR 4350 out shot it.
RL 22 works very good in a 270 Win/WSM or 300 Win Mag.

I will use it for elk mostly, maybe a little black bear or oryx if I draw some day. I trying to get a good load with H4350 or RL22. I have a tack loader with 200gr AB. And found a good 210NP that flat out planted a oryx last year on the missle range. Looks like I need some RL19 for 225.

I have recently increased my load of RL-19 to 73 gns. Average velocity is around 2784fps.

I like to use 73 gr's with 225 pt's and get just under 2900 fps out of my browning and Imr work's good to
