Well I have a few buddies who own 45/70's and since my biggest lever gun is only a puny .348 ( not my words :grin: ) I figured it was time to take the plunge. So on a dreary night in Milwaukee a few weeks back I was sitting in my hotel room when I came across this one on Gbroker. 495 Buy it now. Well I hit the button. It looks to have been shot very little and the serial number puts it at 1990 production. 1895SS.

It came with a Weaver Challenger Scope which I have since taken off as I am gonna run Skinner sights on her and call it good. I already have some 300 and 350gr Hornady's loaded up so I just need to find time to go shoot her. Oh yeah I also have some water jugs ready :lol:

I think a friend of my good friend in FSJ has one, I do know he has some guns that you would like for sure, big lever guns and a 700 classic 35 Whelen.

If you like I can call him for you, I thought he had a couple of 1886 Winchesters, his collection certainly was head turning. I`m not totally sure on the 348 it was a couple of years ago that I saw them.

It has been out; and it is going to be out more. I've managed to get a little mud on the tires (several times). I confess, however, there is no blood in the bed--yet. I am a tad worried that either of my .356's will be somewhat jealous if they see me carrying a Model 71.

We need to get you to review your new Toyota on here. A few people have been asking about them and I figured we could get a Canadian review of them from your side of the border! :lol:

Those 348's are haunting me some. The new ones look pretty nice and Browning made great ones too. Then there is an original's.. Too many choices.
