I just returned from the range to confirm a couple of loads for my Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker, in .30-06. Both loads are shooting right around 1/2", 3 shot groups, from 100 yards using 165 grain Partitions.
The first using IMR 4350 isn't the fastest, but it's the most accurate. Sierra shows it as 2,800 FPS, while other manuals are showing around 2650-2700 FPS. The second load, using H 4350 is shooting quite a bit faster (2,900 FPS), but isn't as accurate. Since I'm almost out of H 4350 I'm settling on the slower, more accurate load using IMR 4350. I'm using Federal GM210 primers.
I have a box of Nosler Custom brass, and factory 1st Partitions waiting to be loaded...Now let's just hope for a fruitful fall!

Nice shooting load you have there. You might want to try adjusting your COL, it just might tighten them up a little more.

i know this was an old post but im courious as to what your OAL was on these rounds ??? im also working with the powders mentioned and its looking promising in my 700 bdl in 30/06 im using hornadys 165 gr sp at the moment but ive also got some gamekings and some nosler particians im gonna try both in 165gr

You are definately shooting some nice groups there but.... I would try some RL-19 and the Nosler 165gr AB before you settle on anything.

does that RL-19 shoot well in a 30/06???? i may try some if i can find it

Sorry for the late response...the OAL is 3.270". I use the exact same load of 54.3 grains of IMR 4350 with the 165 grain Sierra Gameking and get very similar groups, just a hair tighter. Hope that helps.

tip to base or with a comparator???? thanks

Tip to base.

Just got back from the mountains an shot this group out of a new .30-06 Weatherby Vanguard that I won. The load had the same OAL, but used 150 grain Hornady SP's with 58.0 grains of IMR 4350...

I wanted to keep the rifle pristine until I could give it to my oldest son...now I'm tempted to use it for blacktails this year. It's shooting better than my A-Bolt!

Just because you shoot a blacktail doesn't mean that the rifle is not pristine. Your son will have some history behind the rifle when you give it to him.
