Finally.
I've been watching this Rem 700 Mountain KS custom shop stainless 416 Rem. for a week and a half. It has a 22" ported (not braked) barrel and a synthetic stock. I'll try and post the pictures I won it on Gunbroker today.

Greg,

Nice looking rifle! Things happen for a reason, looks like you ended up better off.
The porting will that the sting out of the recoil, maybe a 15% felt recoil reduction.

Congratulations. Now we will undoubtedly hear some great reports as you work up some loads.

Very nice 416 Greg! That is a sharp one! Talk about a perfect rifle to handle those big bears! Scotty

I always liked those Custom Shop KS rifles. That thing ought to be a hoot!

Now you're going to need some BIG NOSLERS.

Wow.....Great gun man. Please tell me what it shoots like. Remington's guns including some of their Custom guns have been questionable in the accuracy department lately.

And yes. Wyoming can use another 416!

I think she might make the trip to Wyoming if she shoots as good as she looks. I'd like to try some of the 350 gr. .416 Accubonds we keep asking Nosler for. In lieu of that maybe the 300 gr TSX or those sleek bullets you use Pop. Them Wyoming elk are big! I had to shoot the last one twice with the 375 RUM. This rifle was supposedly built in 1995.

Greg, you have got to give us some range reports on it. I am starting to get really drawn to the 416RM. Again, Bob Milek writing from G&A! I think he had a M700 and used it a bit back when it first came out. Scotty

If that were mine it would definitely get duracoated....as is my 300 RUM AWR. Soon enough that is.

I bought the kit not too long ago. Lots of how to videos on Youtube.

I kinda want to try the dura cote on my SS 22-250. Hate to tape it and if the dura cote works, it should work slick for my coyote rifle! Scotty

What be this "Duracoat" Thou speakest of?

Thinking about Duracoating the 8mm Mag. If I ever get a breather from these storms. I thought it didn't rain in California. I been deceived
