I just picked up some 7MM 175gn PT for actually a good price. Thank you Nosler.

Putting together an Elk load for my 28 Nosler. My first Elk was with a 7MM RMag back in ‘82. I’ve watched my son put one on the ground with his 28 and both Elk were bang flop. That high SD with this PT should have very little issues with Elk.

I’ve seen partitions kill elk from 257 Roberts/120 to 375HH/300. While I’ve mostly switched to Accubonds I really have no reservations on using Partitions on elk, or anything else for that matter. I agree, at 28 Nosler speeds the 175 should do quite well for you.

I’ve only used the 175 PT’s out of a 280AI, vs the super charged 28 Nosler speeds. That said I once shot a Cow Elk up close and very personal, less than 20’ . That bullet went through the back rib to the off side front shoulder and exited! It didn’t stand a chance of walking another step and just rolled down the hill until it was stopped by a tree.
