Has anybody used Fiocchi primers? I have heard they are a little harder which might be good for AR and other semi auto applications. Well Raven Rocks have 12000 case for $499 that is a good price around .42 cents is not bad.
I haven’t heard anything bad about them. Definitely a good price. They would be worth it just for plinking and target practice until you have built up enough trust to use them for hunting.
A few years ago I bought a brick of Genix LR primers at a decent price. They all have fired but they are extremely difficult to fully seat. It did cost me a missed opportunity on a late season doe one bitterly cold morning with a light strike on the primer. I reserve them for shooting steel gongs.
I bought a brick of large pistol primers when they came available and had one go off while seating it in a 45 acp case on a Dillon 550B, luckily, I only got powder burns on my right arm, the seating system on the Dillon took the blast.
I notified Fiocchi USA about what happened and got the run around that they didn't sell faulty primers and that it was user error.
I won't buy any more of them because of the interaction with their representative.
After a cool down period I have been using what I had left for practice ammo and they work fine but the cup metal is a little hard.
