I loaded up six 120 grain Ballistic Tips after work and headed to the range.
The first shot with a clean barrel is the one to the left.
I shot the remaining 5 and got the group in the triangle. I think. A couple of the holes did look a bit elongated, but it is not beyond the realm of possibility I put one or more off the paper.
I do know shots 2-4 went in the triangle for sure and the spread on those is 1". I'd been meaning to put up a new backer board but put it off and it was not possible to be sure.
A bit better than before after I tightened the scope rings.

Looks to be shaping up into a decent deer load.
Try seating the bullet .0 10" deeper. It just may tighten up even more.

Plenty of experimenting left to do with this one.

when I start to work up a load I'll start with my COAL close to the lands , or I'll load at magazine length , whatever one is shorter . this way when I need to start adjusting COAL I only have one way to go , and this would be shorter . doing it this way ends the question of ; " do I go longer or shorter to tighten this group up " .

Makes sense. I haven't measured to get the OAL to the lands yet. Too antsy just to send some lead down range. Working too much to have any time. Can't wait to retire next year, then let the fun begin.
