First Bull Elk - thanks to Charlie's 340 Wby

Charlie I know exactly what you are saying. I would not be Elk or Moose hunting if I didn't have the young guys helping. Since my heart procedure I am in pretty decent shape after dropping weight & working out 3 to 5 times per week. But I no longer have the kinda strength the young guys have!
The day before I got my WT this year my hunter partner shot a good 4 X 4 and it was all I could do to load him:) my partner has a muscle disease and tries to give a hand but it is tough.
The big guy I got we didn't even try I just called the young guys:)
Next year we are going to have a hitch hoist for sure especially for Whitetail.
The young guys we hunt with are more than willing to help :). It is a generation change & it is same now as when I was younger!
I hope to hunt as long as possible but I have accepted that I will need a hand

Blessings,
Dan

Bill is still doing it but he is a elk machine (in a good way)!

You aren't kidding about that! If you saw how happy he is to do it, it even brings shame on us young guys to get out and hunt harder to keep up with him! We do try to push him through the big timber sometimes, just to slow him down! HA!

Bill is pretty amazing both as a hunter and also the fact that he is still fighting fires for a living! He is the same age as I am and I never cease to be amazed at the things that he can still do.

That's a dandy birthday present, Patrick! Sorry to hear your dad twisted his ankle and slowed his hunt.

Always nice to see a 'bee doing what 'bees do best, too! Congratulations!
