Made up my first round of reloads and shot them today. Out of six loads tested 4 were sub moa so pretty happy about that. 3 groups were neck sized and 3 FL sized. 5 loads with 120 nosler ballistic tips and one load with 140 Sierra gameking. All loads were with H4350.

On the 1.45" group I shanked the third shot I was still squeezing the front bag when I broke the trigger. I honestly think it was going to be a great group too.

The Creedmoor guys I've talked with like the one you've loaded with the 140s. Seems like H4350 between 40.5-42 gr. as your load showed, you are in the Creedmoor sweet spot with that one. Don't know what length barrel, but that 41 gr is probably mid 2700s or so? That's generally around a node on 24s at least.
I'd shoot that all day long. nice shooting!

It's a ruger american predator and has a 22" barrel. I'm thinking it will go about 2600 fps out of my barrel , that's what I got with the factory 140 a max. Which I would be fine with my most realistic shots will be 300 and less. I spend a Lot of time on the 65creedmoore forum thinking about bumping that charge up some and giving it a shot.

I would stick with the 140s. They'll do better against a cross wind. If they shed 20ish grains in the mushrooming process, they'll still weight 120ish, plus they're more likely to penetrate deeper.

Yeah I always leaned to the 140's in my 260 and the Swede. Killed a few with ballistic tips 120 grain in the 260 they performed great though. My most realistic shots in my club are 15 to 120 yards. With some spots in a clear cut you could really stretch one out though. I got about 20 140 gamekings left over gonna load those up for sure, but I've never killed anything with a gameking though.

You have shot some enviable groups there. Congratulations on some excellent loads and some fine riflery. That is stimulating me to get my Creedmoor out and begin to work on it again.

I shot one deer with a 100 bt out of the 6.5x55. Surprisingly good result. I expected more meat damage and the bullet to come apart more than it did

I've used the 125 grain Sierras in the 264 mag with good results but if the 140 shoots well I think it would be a good fit with the Creedmoor.

Thanks DrMike. Alderman I have never shot any of the 100 grains through my 6.5's I guess I always thought they might be to fragile.

Many of the guys shooting competition here are running various 6.5's - they're terrific for longish ranges!

I wouldn't worry too much about hunting with those Game Kings. My brother used to use the 140's in his 264wm with great results. I've used them in 100gr in my 243 also with great results. They are an accurate deer bullet that tend to expand and dump their energy with terminal results.

I'm gonna try the gamekings this year also luckily them and the ballistic tip shoot extreme close to each other. I'll most likely alternate them out on my short range fields.

I have not got to run them over a chronograph yet. Hopefully this weekend I will be able too.

Those 120 grain Ballistic Tips are seriously tough bullets, way tougher than any Sierra. I've mainly been using the 130 AB in my Creedmoor, but shot a few Mule deer with the 120 BT in my 6.5x55 with complete pass through on broadside lung shots.

I've also got the Ruger Predator, I bought it to hunt with my suppressor but the dang thing is really growing on me.

Wincheringon I forgot about the 130 AB. I never used them in my swede, but I did take several deer with them in my 260 and they performed flawlessly. Honestly can't believe I forgot about that bullet. Thanks for reminding me.

... not the 'best' BC, but the same design as the 120gr. .257, 160gr. 7mm, & 165gr. .308, skivved tip/ heavier jacket, 130gr. Sierra HPBT GK's/ 43.0gr. RL-17 //MV 2880fps (26" barrel)// 200yds...
